.....One of the big Tietz department stores in South Eastern Berlin was closed for several hours. A large crowd assembled outside the Kaufhaus des Westens, one of the biggest stores in Berlin, and carried out a sort of picketing service. Customers were exhorted not to enter the store, not to 'buy from the Jews' but to 'buy from Germans'. Uniformed Nazi gurards were posted at the doors. The guard sang Nazi songs. Other Jewish or allegedly Jewish shops in Charlottenburg received similar treatments. The regular police looked on. ... At Chemnitz, in Saxony, a number of judges and high judicial officials were removed from the courts by Nazis and Stahlhelmers and taken in custody....
